We read the menu at all 2,239 US Panera cafes in August 2026. Not one of them lists a Charged Lemonade, or any drink called Charged at all. Panera No Longer Sells Charged Lemonade
We read the menu at 2,239 US bakery-cafes and found no Charged drink of any kind. If you are here because you were told to avoid it, you no longer have to: it is not on the menu. We do not print the caffeine figure it carried, because it is a number nobody can now check against a drink anybody can order. What Panera sells in its place is below, with the caffeine each one actually holds.
The Short Version
What Was Panera Charged Lemonade?
A caffeinated lemonade you poured yourself, from the same station as the ordinary ones. Three things explain both why it sold and why it is gone.
How It Was Sold
Not from the counter. It sat on the self-serve drinks station, in the same row of dispensers as the plain lemonade and the iced tea, and you filled your own cup. Nobody handed it to you and nobody said a word about what was in it.
Why It Was Pulled
Lawsuits. The complaint in each was the same: a drink carrying a real energy-drink dose of caffeine, poured from a lemonade tap, tasting like fruit juice. Panera added warning signs, then reformulated, and in the end stopped selling it.

Why Panera Stopped Selling Charged Lemonade
Four years from launch to withdrawal, with the same fact at the centre of every one of them: an energy drink that did not look like an energy drink.

It arrives on the self-serve station
Panera adds Charged Lemonade to the drinks station and sells it as plant-based. It goes in the same row of dispensers as the ordinary lemonade, in the same cup, at the same refill-it-yourself price.
- 2023
The lawsuits begin
The complaint in each is the same one. Somebody poured what read as lemonade and drank an energy-drink dose of caffeine, with no cashier in between and nothing on the cup to stop them. It becomes national news.
- 2024
Warning signs, then a new recipe
Panera moves. Warning labels go up at the station, the recipe changes, and the drink stops being described the way it was at launch. It is still on sale, but it is no longer being sold as a lemonade that happens to have caffeine in it.
- 2026
It is off the menu
Reading every US cafe in our August 2026 snapshot returns no Charged item, at any price, anywhere. Caffeine is still sold at that station, but under a name that tells you what it is: Energy Refresher. The drinks menu guide lists everything the station carries now.
