Panera flatbread pizza went on sale in 2020 and came off in the menu overhaul of 4 April 2024, one of around 48 items cut that day. This page keeps a record of what the four flatbreads were, and points at what Panera sells now.
Panera flatbread was sold in four kinds. The figures below are the last ones we recorded while they were still on sale. They are a record of what was, not a price list: nobody has been able to buy a Panera bread flatbread pizza since April 2024.

The flatbread was not the first attempt. Knowing what happened both times is the honest way to answer whether it is coming back.
A stone-oven pizza sold only after 4pm, built to give Panera an evening trade it did not have. It lasted about two years.
It was labour-intensive to make and the margins were thin. Panera’s then chief executive put the failure down to a lack of marketing muscle, and to not being able to convince people that the broccoli cheddar soup chain was also a pizza place. Shareholders sued in 2008 over how its performance had been described to them.
Cheese, Margherita and Chipotle Chicken & Bacon arrived in 2020, with Pepperoni following in 2021. This time the pitch was takeaway rather than the evening, which was what the moment called for.
It went on 4 April 2024, in the overhaul Panera called its new era menu: around 48 items cut and nine added, with the reasoning that people had gone back to eating in and the menu should lean on sandwiches, salads, soup and mac and cheese.
Nothing has been announced, and nothing has appeared in our readings of the cafe menu. Panera does bring things back (Black Bean Soup returned in 2025 after years away), so it is not impossible. But pizza has now been tried twice across nearly twenty years and withdrawn both times, for reasons that were about how the food is made and sold rather than whether people liked it.
