What MyPanera Points Are Worth
Panera rebuilt MyPanera on 19 August 2026. The old system, where rewards appeared once you had spent enough and nobody was told the threshold, is gone. You now earn 10 points per dollar and spend them at two published prices: 250 points for a bagel or mini bakery treat, 2,000 for a whole entree. This guide prices both against what Panera actually charges across 2,238 cafes, and the answer is not the one most people expect.
The Panera loyalty program follows a simple earn and redeem cycle. Every dollar earns 10 points and points buy food at two fixed prices. Here is the cycle, as it works since the 19 August 2026 relaunch.
Download the Panera app or visit panerabread.com to create your free MyPanera account. Enter your name, email, phone number, and birthday. Your phone number is what links your account at the register.
Every dollar spent in cafe, on the app or through Panera delivery earns 10 points. Points accumulate automatically when your account is linked. Important: third party delivery services like DoorDash and Uber Eats do NOT earn MyPanera points.
Watch the points balance in the app. There are two prices: 250 points for a free bagel or mini bakery treat, and 2,000 points for a whole entree of your choice. Both are published, so nothing is a surprise and nothing sits in between.
Spend the points in the app and the item comes off your next order. Only one reward can be redeemed per transaction. Points are deducted rather than reset, so whatever is left carries on toward the next redemption.
Both levels are published, so both can be priced. At 10 points per dollar, 250 points is $25 of spending and 2,000 points is $200.00. What each one buys decides which is the better deal, and it is not the big one.
$25 of spending
buys any bagel; an Asiago Bagel is $2.10
back on what you spent
$200 of spending
buys any whole entree, at best the Ultimate Garden Steak Salad at $14.18
back, and only if you pick the dearest
The small reward is the better one per point, because 2,000 points costs eight times what 250 does and no entree on the menu is eight times a bagel. Saving for an entree is worth it only if you would have bought that entree anyway.
Any whole entree, so the choice is worth making deliberately. These are the dearest on the menu, priced across 2,238 US bakery-cafes, with what each one returns against the $200 of spending the points cost.
| Entree | Price | Across cafes | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ultimate Garden Steak Salad | $14.18 | $12.69–$19.45 | 7.1% |
| Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salad | $13.82 | $11.99–$17.45 | 6.9% |
| Carnitas Elote Market Bowl | $13.65 | $11.99–$17.45 | 6.8% |
| Shrimply Baja Salad | $13.45 | $12.29–$17.49 | 6.7% |
| Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad | $13.44 | $11.69–$16.69 | 6.7% |
| Southwest Chicken Ranch Salad | $13.37 | $11.69–$16.69 | 6.7% |
| Ciabatta Cheesesteak | $13.36 | $11.19–$17.25 | 6.7% |
| Grilled Chicken & Avo BLT | $13.31 | $11.19–$17.25 | 6.7% |
Every bagel is $2.10, so at the 250-point level the choice costs nothing either way: Asiago Bagel, Asiago Everything Bagel, Blueberry Bagel, Cinnamon Crunch Bagel, Cinnamon Swirl & Raisin Bagel, Everything Bagel.
Most members earn at the flat 10 points per dollar. These are the levers that raise it.
Ordering in the app is what links a purchase to your MyPanera account. At the counter, a purchase only counts if your account is found before you pay, so give your phone number every time. An order that never reaches your account earns nothing, and the points cannot be added back later if nobody spots it.
Bonus point offers, when Panera runs them, arrive in the app and by email with their own dates and terms. The nationwide launch itself came with 500 bonus points for a purchase made by 1 September 2026. Leave marketing emails on in your account settings so an offer like that does not pass you by.
Your Sip Club subscription gives you free drinks, but every food order you place alongside it still earns full MyPanera points. The drink costs you nothing extra on those visits, so the food you buy alongside it is what moves your balance toward the next reward.
Not every Panera purchase earns MyPanera points. These are the common situations where you will miss out on rewards if you are not careful.
Ordering through DoorDash does not earn MyPanera points even if you enter your phone number. The transaction is processed by DoorDash, not Panera directly.
Same as DoorDash. Uber Eats handles the payment, so Panera cannot track the transaction to your loyalty account. Always use Panera's own delivery instead.
Any third party delivery app bypasses the MyPanera system entirely. You get your food delivered, but zero points earned on the purchase.
Buying a Panera gift card does not earn points. However, spending a gift card on food at Panera does earn points, as long as your MyPanera account is linked.
If you place a catering order without linking your MyPanera account, you miss out on significant points. Always log in or provide your phone number for catering orders.
The ${money(rewardStats.sipClub)} monthly Sip Club fee itself does not earn points. But every food order you place while visiting for your free drink does earn full points.
These are two separate programs and they work best when used together. Here is how they compare side by side so you can decide which combination makes sense for you.

At 10 points per dollar the sums are simple. These are round example spends, not Panera prices, to show how many orders of each size reach the 250-point bakery reward.

Common questions about the Panera loyalty program, how points work, and how to get the most from your MyPanera account.
You earn 10 points for every dollar spent with your MyPanera account, and you spend them at two published levels: 250 points for a bagel or mini bakery treat, 2,000 points for any whole entree. Panera replaced the old system on 19 August 2026, where rewards simply appeared once you had spent enough and the threshold was never published.
10 points per dollar, in cafe, in the app and on Panera's own delivery. That makes the 250-point reward $25 of spending and the 2,000-point reward $200.00. Third-party delivery apps earn nothing, which is the single biggest way people lose points without noticing.
It depends which level you spend at, and the answer is the opposite of what most people assume. $25 of spending buys an Asiago Bagel worth $2.10, a 8.4% return. $200 of spending buys a whole entree, and the dearest on the menu is the Ultimate Garden Steak Salad at $14.18, which is 7.1%. The small reward is the better one per point.
Any whole entree, so the value is entirely your choice. The dearest are the Ultimate Garden Steak Salad, Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salad, Carnitas Elote Market Bowl, from $13.65 to $14.18. Picking a $14.18 salad rather than a $2.10 bagel is the difference between 7.1% back and nothing like it.
There are no longer tiers you unlock by spending. That is the part of the programme Panera changed on 19 August 2026. There are two fixed prices in points and nothing else: 250 and 2,000. Anything describing bronze, silver or gold MyPanera tiers is describing a system that no longer exists.
Anything a third party processes. DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub handle the payment themselves, so Panera never sees the transaction and no points are recorded, whatever phone number you enter. Buying a gift card earns nothing either, though spending one does. The $14.99 Sip Club fee is a subscription rather than a purchase, so it earns nothing on its own.
Yes, and there is no spending requirement to keep it. You can sign up in the app, on the website or at the counter, and you start earning on the first purchase. The paid MyPanera+ tier is separate and optional; the 250 and 2,000 point levels are the same either way.
Yes, and they work on different things, which is why they stack. The Sip Club at $14.99 a month covers the drink; points are earned on food. A visit where the drink is free and the food earns 10 points a dollar is the cheapest way to move toward a reward.
Panera has not published an expiry rule for the points balance under the programme that started on 19 August 2026, so we do not print one. Individual promotional offers do carry their own expiry dates, and those are shown on the offer in the app.
Open the Panera app, go to the Rewards tab and choose the reward. It is applied to your next order automatically. Because 2,000 points buys any whole entree, the one decision worth making is which entree, and the table above ranks them by what they cost.
MyPanera is free to join. No credit card needed. Your first purchase starts earning points toward free rewards.
